Fitness Four is published by The Statement Group Corporation, 7901 4th St N, Suite 300, St. Petersburg, FL 33702. We write about movement, food, supplements, and healthy aging for women over 50. Before you act on anything you read here, please read this page. It exists to be clear about what this site is and what it isn’t.

This is not medical advice

Everything on this site, from strength routines to smoothie recipes to articles about sleep and supplements, is general information published for educational purposes. It isn’t medical advice, it isn’t a diagnosis or treatment plan, and it isn’t tailored to your health history. Reading this site doesn’t create a doctor-patient, dietitian-client, or trainer-client relationship of any kind.

Our writers share research they’ve read and routines they’ve lived with. They are not physicians, registered dietitians, physical therapists, or certified medical professionals, and nothing on this site should be read as coming from one.

Talk with your doctor first

This matters more, not less, after 50. Bodies at this stage of life are more likely to be managing blood pressure, cholesterol, thyroid conditions, bone density changes, joint replacements, or prescription medications that interact with exercise intensity, diet changes, and supplements. Before you start a new exercise program, change how you eat, or add any supplement, run it past your physician or another qualified provider who actually knows your history.

Never ignore professional medical advice, or put off getting it, because of something you read here. If you think you’re having a medical emergency, call your doctor or 911 right away.

Exercise involves risk

All physical activity, including the gentle, beginner-friendly routines we favor, carries a risk of injury. If you try any movement, workout, or routine described on this site, you do so voluntarily and at your own risk. Warm up, start lighter than you think you need to, and stop immediately if you feel pain, dizziness, chest pressure, shortness of breath, or anything that doesn’t feel right, and get medical attention if it doesn’t pass.

Food, recipes, and allergies

Check ingredient labels for yourself. Recipes on this site can’t account for your allergies, intolerances, or medical dietary restrictions, and manufacturers change formulations without warning. If you’re managing a condition like diabetes or kidney disease, or you’re on a medically supervised diet, clear new recipes with your care team first.

Nutrition information is an estimate

The nutrition panels on our recipe cards are calculated from standard ingredient databases and are provided as a courtesy, per serving. Actual values shift with brands, exact quantities, substitutions, and preparation. They’re close enough for everyday planning, but if you need precise numbers for medical reasons, verify them with your own tools or a professional.

About supplements

When we write about protein powders, vitamins, or other supplements, we’re reporting published research and our own experience, not making health claims. Statements on this site about dietary supplements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration, and no product we mention is intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. Supplements can interact with prescription medications, so bring the label to your doctor or pharmacist before adding one.

Your results will vary

Any outcome we describe, whether from a study, a routine, or personal experience, is not a promise. Strength, weight, energy, and sleep respond differently for every body, and factors like genetics, health conditions, consistency, and starting point matter more than any single article.

Accuracy, and its limits

We work to keep articles accurate and to update them when research moves. Even so, health science changes, sources contain errors, and we make mistakes. The site and its content are provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We don’t guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of anything published here, and The Statement Group Corporation isn’t liable for loss or injury connected with your use of the site. Our Terms and Conditions spell out the legal details.

Affiliate links and advertising

This site may earn money in two ordinary ways: advertising, and affiliate links. If you click an affiliate link and buy something, the retailer may pay us a commission at no extra cost to you. We may participate in affiliate programs operated by retailers and affiliate networks, and ads on the site may be served by third-party networks. Recommendations reflect our honest assessment; no affiliate relationship decides what we cover or how we rate anything. Assume that any link to a retailer on this site may be an affiliate link.

Third-party websites

When we link out, whether to a study, a product, or another publication, we’re pointing, not vouching. We don’t control other websites and aren’t responsible for their content, accuracy, or practices, and their terms and privacy policies, not ours, govern your visit there.
